Abstract

A measure of dispersion of data of ratio type, standard ratio (SR) or standard multiplicative deviation (SMD) or standard geometric deviation (SGD), was developed on the basis of the ratios of the observations to their geometric mean. Some basic properties of this measure have been derived here due to their importance in theoretical development and practical applications. Derivations of the properties have been discussed in this article.
